news report summary regarding Jussie Smollett, part 1

I'll talk about Jussie Smollet on two or three posts. Here's part 1, you can click the jump below or, if you're already there, read it below.

So I never watched the television show Empire (currently airing on the Fox Entertainment broadcast television network in the U.S.) and the only actors of the show that I know of are Terrance Howard and Taraji P. Henson. But the Empire actor Jussie Smollett, I've first heard of that actor's name when news reports came about the actor himself being attacked by two men. I haven't dig into these stories that much because I haven't been an Empire fan at all (I'm not into shows where people are fighting for power and money).

It started out as a hate crime where Jussie Smollett received a threatening letter that's not inappropriate to to describe on my Blogger site due to being the site being family-friendly. Then days later, two men attack Jussie Smollett in his apartment home, if I'm correct. Smollett then reported to Chicago police and the Chicago police called this a hate crime and arrested the two aforementioned men.

Though things start to get suspicious among the Chicago police as the two aforementioned men were actually Nigerian brothers (who were also acted as extras on Empire) and they told the Chicago police that they have been paid by Smollett to stage this attack on him.

I'll talk more about it in tomorrow (or a little bit later) and I'll try to clear (and correct) things up if anything in here goes incorrect.

UPDATE (4/14/2019 10:35pm): I posted my Part 2 post about him, you can read the continuation.

He was the anchor of the aforementioned "The Newshour" when it was called "The Robert McNeil Report" and since he got promoted to co-anchor, the show has been renamed a few times from "The McNeil/Lehrer Report" to "The McNeil/Lehrer Newshour" to the legendary-named "The Newshour with Jim Lehrer", when Robert McNeil resigned from his co-anchor chair in 1995, to currently "PBS Newshour" in 2009. Lehrer would then leave the anchor chair in 2011. Back when I was little, I sometimes go watch "The Newshour with Jim Lehrer" for curiosity reasons. Though "ABC World News with Peter Jennings" is my preferred choice to watch, I would have to give ...
